21 years ago we limped into New Orleans Both of us were just out of separate hospitals. My wife just had a baby. I had just gotten a new hip -- and a company transfer. Our Realtor called us "you poor things" and offered to do our laundry. Our first meal was at a Taco Bell. My wife ate hers in the bathroom because the baby was hungry.
The Mississippi River was so high that year, that the ships towered above the levees and us. We were used to having mountains above us and now our home was built two feet below sea level. My wife had learned to cook 4,000 ft above sea level. She thought she might like this place. I was glad there were lots of places to eat out. We started to explore. This is what we found.
